INFO:
to all the wild things out there… There are many different interpretations of this ancient folk song. “El condor pasa, or “The condor passes”, denotes the spirit of freedom. It is about being in control of your life. Like while the snail is slow and stuck to the ground, the sparrow is swift and free The nail is stuck to the wall and endures pain or oppression, while the hammer is free and strong. While a forest is huge and can expand, the road is stagnant and trampled upon by others.” I see it as an ethos of embracing the wilderness over man-made constructs. Of letting nature heal mind and body, an idea we’re only just waking up to in the grips of a perpetually online era. Feeling the need to escape and wondering what it is we’re escaping and why we keep returning. It’s also, of course, a song by a very famous and inspiring film and novel. And it embodies everything we love about van travel, heading deep into the wilderness on dirt track roads for days on end… This is us in our wild era. An era we don’t intend on leaving any time soon… 🌲
